I'm so glad you're here! Thank you so much for booking my Cosy Caravan Sessions and for trusting me to capture these treasured moments for you. I am so excited to be shooting at this gorgeous spot again and can’t wait to show you!

I want you to come into your session feeling at ease. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourselves. Where you can play and connect as a family.

When you arrive, you will be met by my helper on the day. She will mark your name off the list and let you know when I’m ready to start with your crew. I will have a basket handy for phones, keys, sunnies, etc. to avoid bulky pockets. We’ll take a quick moment to say hello and ease into it. Don’t worry about what to do, I am ready to capture the candid moments of fun, connection and love between you and your family.

My style of photography is both casual and natural, as I feel the best images are taken when your family is less aware of the camera. I know kids often don’t want to be told to pose or smile, so I will have a couple of classic games for you to play with in the caravan, there will be the chance for some cuddles and of course the campfire!

To help prep the kids for the shoot, please let them know you’re going to have some fun together. If they’re not in the mood, we will try to redirect them with play.

I am so excited to create a memorable experience for you, and to capture this time of your lives!

Wat if it is?

I’ll always keep an eye on the weather forecast in the lead up to the day and will keep in touch with any updates.

If it is overcast we will go ahead, however given weather’s unpredictable nature, I will make the call the morning of.

Alternate date will be 14th July.

Let's make styling your shoot something to get excited about, not overwhelmed. I'm here to help you piece everything together and make this as stress-free as possible. It's all part of the creative process, let your true style shine!

What's most important is that you feel like yourself and that you can move comfortably. Given the cosy winter vibe of this shoot, casual warm layers, comfy shoes. Denim and knits photograph amazingly!

Pick your outfit first, mum, then build from there.

Throw in some fun colours if you like, but please avoid too many overwhelming patterns, logos and character t-shirts, as these can compete and distract.

Please don’t feel the need to match everyone. I find that if you stick to a bit of a colour palette, working with complementary colours or varying shades of the same colour, this works really well.

I have some colour examples below:

Text graphic titled 'What to Wear 2023' with stylized gold and white lettering on a black background.
A woman with blonde hair, wearing a yellow sweater and blue jeans, stands outdoors in a grassy area, holding a baby wrapped in a colorful crocheted blanket, with trees and a clear sky in the background during sunset.

Example 1: Vibrant

If you’re a colour lover, please don’t feel you have to mute your vibe for me! The only thing I suggest is to be a little considered about what colours you’re all wearing. Too many bold patterns can be overwhelming, but if one of you wears a pattern, you can pull on some of the colours from that pattern for the other people to wear.

Denim photographs amazingly! Think about accessories, fun beanies and scarves add to your photos too.

Color palette with circles in red, light blue, yellow, green, white, orange, purple, and gray
Child with blonde hair sitting on a pink mat, licking an ice cream cone with chocolate and white topping, wearing a gray shirt with colorful animal prints, with two adults nearby, one wearing a red checkered top and another wearing a white t-shirt with red striped shorts, outdoors.
A woman in a blue swimsuit stands in shallow calm water, with her arms behind her head, enjoying a moment of relaxation.
A pregnant woman and her partner, each holding a young girl, standing outdoors in a grassy field with laundry hanging on a clothesline in the background. The family appears happy and close.
A family of five sitting together outdoors on a blanket in a grassy area, enjoying the sunset. The family includes a mother, father, two young children, and a baby. They are smiling and appear happy.

Example 2: Neutrals/Earthy colours

Neutrals always work well. Natural, earthy colours compliment every background. They are timeless and always work effectively to create pictures that never go out of style. Think about texture, layers, movement and complimentary patterns.

A row of eleven colored circles ranging from beige to gray.
Family of four sitting on steps outside their brick house, smiling. The father has a beard, wears a beige jacket, and is holding a young boy in a brown jacket. The mother, with long black hair, is in a matching beige jacket and has a young girl in beige froms and white sneakers, sitting on her lap. There are plants in the foreground and a house window with a striped awning behind them.
A family of four enjoying an outdoor adventure in nature during sunset, with hills and trees in the background.
A woman and young girl sharing a kiss in a field during sunset, wearing cozy clothes with mountains in the background.
A happy family of six, including two adults and four children, sitting on a large rock in a grassy outdoor area with trees and purple flowering tree in the background, smiling and laughing.

Example 2: Pastels

Pastel colours always provide a beautiful contrast to the natural surroundings. Think about texture, layers and complimentary patterns.

For winter sessions - think about knit jumpers, wooly socks and chunky boots

Horizontal row of ten pastel-colored circles on a black background.
A family of three enjoying time at the beach, with the father and mother holding their young daughter up and smiling as she jumps, all barefoot on the sand with trees and blue sky in the background.
A family of four enjoying a day at the river, with a young girl being lifted by her father, a woman and a girl playing by the water, surrounded by trees.

Big distracting logos, licensed/character t-shirts or overwhelming clashing patterns. We want your family to shine in your photos, and we dont want a t-shirt or loud pattern to steal the spotlight. I am not saying to avoid patterns all together, just not everyone in pattern. If you have something in mind and want to run it by me, I'm happy for you to email me a photo and I can let you know what would work and what doesn't.

Patchy fake tan. I love a bit of a glow myself, but please don't overdo it with the fake tan. It makes my job a little tricky when I'm trying to balance and even out skin tones in my edits.

Smart watches. For truly timeless images, I recommend not wearing smart-watches. These can date a photo and also be a distracting piece.

Bulky pockets and hair ties on wrists. I will have a bag with me for you to put phones, wallets, keys, hair ties, etc. in before we start the session.
